The Professionals Have Spoken: How to Shoot Like a Pro

Ever wondered what makes Julie Golob, Pang Wei, Fatima Galvez stand out from the rest? What is it that has earned them the reputation of some of the greatest international shooters? What has won them gold medals? It’s their shooting skills.
As shooting enthusiasts, we got in touch with some of the shooting professionals to learn how to develop those pro shooting skills and attitude. Here’s what they had to offer:

Shooting Stance

Your surrounding and physical conditions might dictate your standing position; however, there are a few aspects that you need to consider.
You need to put your weight forward when standing. This helps you to prepare yourself for the recoil that will take place after you shoot. Make sure that you balance yourself in a way that you’re never pushed back after you’ve shot. Getting off-balance isn’t something that you’d want.
Your body position should be in sync with your position. Your torso should lean a bit forward and your waist should slightly bend forward.
Next, make sure that your arms are not locked out and your shoulders aren’t around your ears. Shoulders should be relaxed and your arms should be extended completely.

Sight Alignment

Gun sights are devices that are used to align the target. They are composed of the front and rear aiming pieces. This device helps in indicating where the gun is aimed at. They are available in different shapes, sizes and colors. You can choose one according to your preference.
Align these sights on the target where you want the shot to be fired. While aligning, make sure that the tip and rear front sights are on the same level. One you’ve aligned, you’re ready to shoot.

Trigger Pull

This is the essential aspect of precision shooting. After you’ve aligned the sights carefully on your target, you’re ready to pull the trigger. While pressing while your index finger, make sure there is no hand movement. If you do not follow this rule, you’re likely to miss your target. Also, refrain from flinching at the instant you shoot. Finally, stay calm while pulling the trigger.
An important tip from the professionals: Always carry your guns in holsters to protect them from damage.
