The Pros And Cons Of Pocket Carry

People who choose to carry a concealed firearm in their daily lives are frequently looking for the best options to carry. Depending upon the climate, a shoulder holster might not be the best option for you. A waistband can definitely be uncomfortable.

One easy way to carry concealed weapons is in your pocket, with a simple pocket carry holster. Whether it is your jacket pocket, breast pocket or even your jeans, a pocket carry holster can help you out.

The Pros

All concealed carry holsters mean that you will be compromising on one aspect or the other. However, pocket carry still provides a number of advantages, including but not limited to:
Easy Of Carry - Carrying things in our pockets is something all of us are familiar with. Even if there is a small bulk in your pocket, you don’t mind. At least there is no discomfort in your shoulders, or waistline or nothing jammed into your back. The best part is that pocket carry doesn’t cause discomfort. Whether you are standing, running or walking, it will be similar to carrying your phone.

Lesser Restrictions - Even though some pants will work better, most things we wear have pockets. With pocket carry, you don’t need to stick to any sort of clothing requirements.

Best Concealment - If keeping your weapon hidden from plain sight is the primary concern, nothing can work better than pocket carry. Your gun would never flash and the anti-print panel would fade out any prints. Furthermore, people are used to carrying wallets, phones and much more in their pockets. Even a prominent bulge would go unnoticed when walking around.

Quick Access - Although pocket holster aren’t really good when it comes to faster draw time, you still have access to a full firing grip. The best part? You can draw it while still in a non-threatening posture. The case isn’t the same if you are reaching the back of your shirt for your gun and there is no element of surprise.

Affordable - Even though the price of your holster shouldn’t be the deciding factor when it comes to concealed carry, pocket carry holsters are much cheaper than their counterparts.

The Cons

Longer Draw Times - Your hand needs to go into the pocket and gain a proper grip. Naturally, this extends the draw times. Also, special care must be taken to separate the gun from the holster. This adds to the draw time, making it slower than other concealed carry options.
Gun Size Restrictions - A full size 1911 can be concealed in your waistband, but not your pocket. Also, most pockets are smaller. This means you may need to stick to a smaller handgun that fits in your pockets.

The Bottom Line

Concealed carry with pocket carry holsters can be an excellent option for armed civilians. Even some respectable sized guns can be carried in all pockets easily. All you need is draw practice and you are good to go!

If You Make These 5 Shooting Range Mistakes, It Is Time To Stop!

Most gun owners do a lot of recreational shooting and testing at their local gun range. A number of different accidents occur at the gun range in any given month, largely due to shooter ignorance, not due to intentionally irresponsible behavior.
Add to it the idea that most people think that humans are genetically hardwired to handle a firearm, and you get the perfect recipe for gun range mistakes (which might be annoying for experienced shooters at the range).
WRB Sales, leading supplier of gun range bag and shooting accessories discuss some common mistakes you might be making at the range:

#1-The Prickly-Magnet Trigger Finger

For many new shooters, apparently the convenient way to scratch their trigger finger is to rub it firmly around the trigger guard. Call it instinct or human nature but magnetic triggering is an irresistible thing for most index fingers. After all, the finger belongs there doesn’t it? Then why is there a big hole right next to the trigger?
Get this - you are at a range and you probably haven’t graduated to shooting moving targets yet. Learn to get a grip on the itchy trigger finger feeling and preferably rest your trigger finger away from the trigger, on the side of the firearm when not shooting.

#2-Side Slide Reloading

As our hands are mounted on the sides of our bodies, we naturally tend to turn the gun to the left (when keeping the right hand on the trigger) and reload. Nothing wrong here, right? Wrong. When you do this, you are unintentionally pointing the gun at the shooters on your left.
Although it takes a bit of extra effort to rotate your body so that the gun is pointing downwards while reloading, it is definitely worth the trouble.

#3-Back Seat Shooting

These are the shooters who stand far behind the shooting line so that the muzzles are actually behind all the other shooters. Just like backseat drivers, for experienced shooters, these guys are frustrating and mean trouble.
When shooting at the range, make sure that you step up on the line. On the bright side, you will not come off as dangerous and you will be closer to the target.

#4-Hand Troubles

This typically happens at outdoor shooting ranges where shooters can go down the range and clean up their mess. Once a shooter calls out ‘cold range’, it is your responsibility to keep the firearm aside until the shooter fixes up the targets and comes back behind the counter.
While you might have a little trouble putting aside your firearm, do it for the safety of your fellow shooters and also to not accidentally shoot one in the back.

#5-Turning Around

Turning around at the gun range, especially when your firearm is loaded is never a good idea. You might be tempted to scream out to your friend at the back and tell them how you shot the target to smithereens, but don’t. There are two problems here - first, it isn’t the right thing to do if you don’t want to freak out other shooters. Secondly, a handgun is much shorter, and turning around with a handgun in your hand means you are pointing it directly at the person behind you.

Avoid these five gun range mistake and you will soon master shooting safety and effectiveness. Check out the collection of gun range essentials and firearm accessories available at WRB Sales for an even safer shooting experience.

Enjoying The Great Outdoors - Five Things You Can Do This Summer

Though the days may be longer in summer, time seems to fly by more quickly.
That’s because summers are fun-filled and adventurous – only if you plan them right.
The days are longer, and nights warmer; however, you have many ways to make summer exciting and memorable.
Here is our 5 best picks for you to make the most of this summer, while enjoying great outdoor activities:

1.    Go Hiking!

Hiking makes for an amazing travel experience and top outdoor activity for summers. The benefits are far beyond.
Hiking can help you overcome stress, simply de-clutter your mind and enjoy the beauty of nature. The rewards reaped through hiking are remarkable and instant. For people who find hiking terrifying, the American Hiking Society states that the activity offers an incredible range of health benefits with relatively lesser risks.

2.    Go Camping!

When was the last time you slept under the shelter of the skies and prepared dinner on an open fire?
Camping is the ultimate opportunity to relax and pull yourself away from everyday hustle-bustle. The best way to enjoy summer is to bid adieu to all your gadget, and spend quality time with real friends and family over camping.
You can play sports, explore the camping site, go hunting, and enjoy cooking etc. in the absence of routine distractions.

3.    Go on a Local City Trip

Summer is the best time to explore the city you’re living in. This is particularly great if you’re new. Glance through the local food bank or visit the city’s community lawn. Plan on exploring the history of your town and discover something unique about your community. This way, you’ll unfold untold stories and make your time more engaging and enlightening. After all, the best trips are often in your own backyard, not abroad.

4.    Practice Shooting at a Gun Range

A visit to a gun range is an adventurous, fun-filled learning experience.
This stress-relieving activity promises mental and physical benefits.
Shooting helps your body build physical discipline, enhances arm strength, improves focus, exercises your eyes, and promotes liberty. And these are just a few benefits.
While there are a host of things you can do this summer to make it more fun and adventurous, your security cannot be risked or compromised. Carrying a licensed weapon secured with top accessories makes sense. At WRB, find the finest gun cases for sale, tactical range bags, and other shootingbags at reasonable rates.

5.    Go Kayak Fishing

Kayak fishing is one of those things that you should try at least once in your lifetime. Assuming that you are a newbie, start with the basics.

Take a fishing rod along and start paddling into subtle waters. If you’re a veteran fisher, teaching your friends this art is a great activity to undertake this summer; the more, the merrier.

What Is An Appropriate Behavior Of An Armed Civilian In Public

People who generally have a phobia of inanimate objects tend to suggest that merely owning a firearm is a motivator for action. The truth is that majority of gun owners in the United States are more responsible and are law-abiding citizens compared to others.
Most gun owners understand the responsibility that comes with owning a gun. The mere fact that you carry a lethal tool on you should actually make you an asset to the society rather than a threat.
As gun owners, what should we do to be responsible in our conduct? More importantly, what should we do when we interact with unarmed civilians?

Adopting A Non-Confrontational Approach

The first thing you need to do is gradually switch to a non-confrontational approach.
Owning a gun should be able to change your attitude for the better.
You may notice yourself; as time passes and you become more proficient with your gun, you tend to become comfortable around other people. Try smiling if someone is rude. Why be so nice? You are carrying a lethal tool along with a skill-set not many people have. When you learn to walk away from confrontations, it means you truly realize the responsibility and value of carrying a firearm.

Avoid The ‘Shoot First, Think Later’ Mindset

Whether you love shooting at the range, are a fan of hunting or need to carry a firearm due to your responsibilities as part of a law enforcement agency, you will come across different sorts of people.
Many of these people will be uneducated about matters regarding self-defense. You will hear them state the most ignorant things like ‘shoot first, think later’, or even ‘if you come to my house without being invited, you get shot!’
Remember that such mentality only exists among people who are uneducated and don’t truly understand the responsibility they have. They are also the type of people who buy a gun and leave it in the drawer for the remainder of its life.
The most capable you become with your firearm, the subtler your personality should become.

This Doesn’t Mean You Should Back Up On Violent Situations

None of this means that you should not take action if it’s warranted. But, if you carry a gun, you owe it to the society around you to be a promoter of peace, especially in situations that can turn violent when you have a chance to walk away safely.

Be a responsible gun owner and you will start feeling comfortable carrying your firearm! Looking for concealed carry holsters? Check out our collection today.

Benefits Of Handgun Laser

You Need These Tools To Clean Your Gun

Like other tools, your gun needs proper maintenance. It’s a precision weapon and its function depends on its upkeep. Every time you pull the trigger, some residue and sediments are deposited on the inner side of the barrel. And so, cleaning your gun after every practice is recommended.
Not many of us particularly enjoy the cleaning process, but we do it to ensure safe and efficient functioning of our weapons. If you ever want to sell your weapon, ignoring its basic maintenance will devalue your gun. Here are several tools making your job easier.

Cleaning Fluids

Four different types of cleaning fluids are used, mostly in succession:
Solvent- removes lead, carbon and other debris from the bore.
Degreaser- cleans the moving parts of your gun by removing dirt and oil.
Lubricant- lubricates various parts and protects against rust.
Protectant- Water displacing protectant repels water and prevents rusting if the weapon is exposed to rough conditions.

Cleaning Rod, Patch Holder and Patches

These are used together for cleaning the bore. Cleaning patches (wipes) are available in bulk. They are soaked in lubricant to clean the less stubborn debris and loosen the rest of the debris from the bore.
It will allow other chemicals to work. Do not re-use a dirty patch as it will only resettle the debris inside the bore.
Patches are held onto cleaning rod with the help of a patch holder. Cleaning rods come in segments as one-piece for rifles. Before using the rod, keep in mind that it can damage the barrel. Slightest damage on the crown of your barrel will affect the accuracy of your gun. Consider using a brass model for handguns and carbon fiber rod for rifles.

Cleaning Brush

Choose a bronze cleaning brush so that it does not damage the barrel. These brushes come in different sizes and bore diameters. They easily attach to the end of a cleaning rod. Always buy more than one brush as they wear down easily.

Gun Toothbrush

Although you can use any brush, these gun-specific ones are designed to reach every nook and cranny. It can even clean out trigger parts and slide grooves. You can use either nylon or brass ones for your weapon.

Additional Tools

These tools are not necessary but useful to have around. Bore guide help prevent solvent dripping into the receiver as well as keeps the rod centered to avoid damage. Cleaning pads prevent the solvent from leaking. Swabs can be used to clean smaller, hard-to-reach spaces. Cleaning cradles hold your rifles in place as you scrub the bore.

Cleaned up your rifle and ready for a practice shooting session? Pack your weapon in a gun range bag or tuck it in in-the-pants holsters, such as the ones sold at WRB.

Ever Used A Handgun Laser? Here Are A Few Benefits…

In the past decade, there has been an increase in self defense weapon manufacture. Number of accessories for these weapons has also increased. But handgun lasers aren’t new.
These guns have been around for decades. Only now, they’re lighter and more advanced.
A handgun laser is good for both new licensees and those with some experience. They can increase your accuracy and favor you in difficult shooting conditions. Here are a few benefits of trying out a laser handgun now:

Targeting under low light conditions

Self defense weapons are most useful at night. Lasers can help you target accurately in low light situations. A red or green laser beam is hard to miss.
The laser offers instant target acquisition which speeds up aiming in the dark.
Helps you practice
Want to practice targeting at home? There is no better feedback than your handgun laser. If your hand moves even slightly while pressing the trigger, the laser beam moves too. The tiniest of movements are visible because the laser pint across the room is magnified.
Going at it with a live round? Your trigger presses need to be more accurate for a live fire practice than it needs for singular targets. Laser beam efficiently notes slightest movements. If you see too many movements, you need to work on your trigger press.
Shooting from different angles
During self defense, you may have to shoot from different angles. Your target is not standstill. Lasers help you target from different, often uncomfortable angles. You can shoot from a position on the ground or turned sideways. Not just that, but a handgun laser lets you shoot around barriers too. This practice can come handy in lethal face-offs.
Maintain your focus on target
When using a weapon for self defense, you can lose easily if you’re more focused on aiming than your target. Your target may just elude; in combat situations, it could be lethal.
Handgun lasers allow you to aim quickly without taking your sight off your target. Seeing exactly where you aim is gives you confidence under such this stressful condition.

Laser or not, if you want to make the best use of your weapon, keep it accessible. Use gun holsters and gear which allow you to easily pull out your weapon. Such as this shirt tuckable holster available on sale from WRB.

The Four Rules of Gun Safety

Guns are might be a weapon that could save a life. For some of us, it is a matter of passion and enthusiasm. In the wrong hand, or if held carelessly, however, there’s no doubt that it could be fatal. There are no second chances with a gun.
Thus, to protect people and to avoid accidents, the four rules of gun safety were developed. Learn about these rules here and follow them at all times:

Rule # 1: Assume That Your Gun is Loaded – Always

Consider your - and every other - gun to be loaded at all times. Until and unless you aren’t 100% sure, you just can’t assume that the gun is unloaded. Even if it’s your gun, and you unloaded it the last time you kept it, always double-check it. There’s no exception to this rule, even if you kept it aside on your table an hour ago!

Rule # 2: Don’t Point the Gun at Something you do not Intend to Destroy

Your firearm should never be aimed at a position where you don’t intend to shoot. Decide the safest muzzle direction and keep your gun pointed in that direction. Never point the gun towards yourself or any other person. Remember, the first rule, the gun is always loaded, thus avoid being careless and keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction.

Rule # 3: Keep your Finger off the Trigger

This rule should be practiced 100 percent of the time you’re holding a gun. What if you accidentally pull the trigger? You may shoot at something or someone you had no intention to.
As long as your finger is away from the trigger, you’re handling your gun safely. Every time you pick up your gun, hold it in a way that your finger is away from the trigger. Not doing so can lead to injuries and even death.

Rule # 4: Focus on your Target and know what’s Behind it

Use sights to focus on your intended target. These devices help in shooting the target only and reduce the chances of incorrect and inaccurate shooting. Bullets can go beyond and through your intended target. Thus, always know what’s behind your target in order to ensure safety.
There’s nothing such as ‘accidental shooting’. Follow these rules every time you’re handling a gun.

Pistol cases, gun rugs and holsters are the best option to keep your guns safe. WRB Sales offers a wide collection of holsters and gun cases for sale at affordable rates. From horizontal shoulder holster to shirt tuckable holsters, the online store offers all!

The Professionals Have Spoken: How to Shoot Like a Pro

Ever wondered what makes Julie Golob, Pang Wei, Fatima Galvez stand out from the rest? What is it that has earned them the reputation of some of the greatest international shooters? What has won them gold medals? It’s their shooting skills.
As shooting enthusiasts, we got in touch with some of the shooting professionals to learn how to develop those pro shooting skills and attitude. Here’s what they had to offer:

Shooting Stance

Your surrounding and physical conditions might dictate your standing position; however, there are a few aspects that you need to consider.
You need to put your weight forward when standing. This helps you to prepare yourself for the recoil that will take place after you shoot. Make sure that you balance yourself in a way that you’re never pushed back after you’ve shot. Getting off-balance isn’t something that you’d want.
Your body position should be in sync with your position. Your torso should lean a bit forward and your waist should slightly bend forward.
Next, make sure that your arms are not locked out and your shoulders aren’t around your ears. Shoulders should be relaxed and your arms should be extended completely.

Sight Alignment

Gun sights are devices that are used to align the target. They are composed of the front and rear aiming pieces. This device helps in indicating where the gun is aimed at. They are available in different shapes, sizes and colors. You can choose one according to your preference.
Align these sights on the target where you want the shot to be fired. While aligning, make sure that the tip and rear front sights are on the same level. One you’ve aligned, you’re ready to shoot.

Trigger Pull

This is the essential aspect of precision shooting. After you’ve aligned the sights carefully on your target, you’re ready to pull the trigger. While pressing while your index finger, make sure there is no hand movement. If you do not follow this rule, you’re likely to miss your target. Also, refrain from flinching at the instant you shoot. Finally, stay calm while pulling the trigger.
An important tip from the professionals: Always carry your guns in holsters to protect them from damage.

WRB Sales offers a wide variety of gun holsters and gear at competitive rates. You can even buy shooting accessories conveniently from this online store.

Types of holsters- What’s best for you?

Holsters are one of the most popular firearm accessories that are used by professionals and enthusiasts alike. Oftentimes, people purchase it, but fail to use it, mainly because it just doesn’t feel right when worn.
If you have a holster and have experienced this, you’re not the first. There are way too many holsters available in the market that vary by type of weapons they are supposed to carry, areas of the body where they can be mounted, and more.
Finding the right one can no doubt prove to be challenging. Here, we list a few tips that will help you narrow down options.

What Is The Objective Of A Holster?

The first thing you need to consider is the objective. Is it security, accessibility, concealment, better retention ability or something else?
Whatever holster you buy, there are always tradeoffs. Certain holsters are intentionally designed to place more weightage on achieving particular objectives. Depending on your preference, you can choose the relevant one. Here are a few things to consider:

Security

If security is your concern, the holster should be able to hold your gun firmly, while you are running, walking, driving or even in combat.

Accessibility

For this, consider a holster that’s easy to reach - even if you are in an uncomfortable position.

Concealment

The holster should hide the gun and leave no print through clothes.

Retention

Depending on the requirement, the holster should allow fast and easy retention. This may also include the convenience of weapon retention using a single hand.

Types of Holsters

Shoulder Holsters

It wouldn’t be wrong to refer to shoulder holsters as specialty items. They are usually used when a gun cannot be worn on the hip. There are two main types of shoulder holsters: vertical-carry and horizontal-carry.
The former is best for large guns; whereas the latter, for normal. They also allow fast retention.

Ankle Holsters

Ankle holsters are widely used for carrying secondary firearms. Since retention can be a bit of a hassle, they should never be used for primary storage. They are perfect for backup compact guns.

Pocket Holsters

Pocket holsters, back or front, are convenient for smaller guns and require no concealment garments. The offer maximum accessibility and are very comfortable.

In the Pants Holsters

In the pants holsters offer convenience, concealment, and are best suited for carrying compact or subcompact weapons. They are small in size and can usually be tucked under the t-shirt.

Tactical Leg Holsters

These are typically used by professionals- law enforcement, rangers, rangers, hunters etc. There are a number of tactical leg holsters available in the market designed for carrying different sized weapons like tactical leg holsters for autos and tactical leg holsters for revolvers

Waistband Holsters

Waistband holsters are perfect for undercover and off duty cops. If maximum concealment and efficient retention are your priorities, this is the ideal choice.
